Trump was .... Trump, more so than even in the past. I completely fail to see the appeal he seems to have.

It was the most "rough" of the debates so far.

Bush did better.... Christie seemed to do well...

Farina did poorly.... I wonder if she's now out.

Carson shined ONLY because he seemed "above" things... But unlike past debates, he seemed weak and with nothing to contribute just nice.

Cruz and Rubio had some exchanges as both seem to be rising; they are really very similar and so I think are trying to distinquish themselves. I continue to support Rubio but this was not his best debate showing; Cruz seemed able to rattle him a couple of times. Cruz refused to rebuke Trump (trying to win over the same people), and Trump refused to rebuke Cruz... but I think the result is that Cruz is simply been seen as a mirror image in a more reasonable package, Cruz is beginning to come across as a "me, too" candidate, the alternative for those who think Trump is right but crazy/scary. I wouldn't be surprised if all this quickly comes down to Rubio vs. Cruz - but I don't discount Christie.

BEST THING from the night was Trump pledging again to not run as an independent and to support whoever the nominee is. I think the fear of every Republican is Trump running as a third party independent, absoluting insuring another Clinton in the white house. He was SO bold last night as to make that impossible, I hope.

I don't know much about Trump really but is he for real or is it part of an act?

I read an article on the BBC News web site (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-35066940) that looked at the possibility he might be a Democrat secret agent.

It seems to me that he takes a position that might be popular and then takes it to an extreme. His comments about London having no-go areas due to the numbers of Muslims are simply not true, and when he makes comments that can be debunked fairly easily I struggle to conclude anything other than he is more about tub thumping and rabble rousing than serious politics (and to be clear, the same applies to any politician who makes claims that can be easily shown to be false).

I'm not sure whether I fear Donald or Hillary in the White House more.

I know I'd rather see Bernie in the white house!

Do you think it's likely that Bernie can beat Hillary to the Democrat nomination? I'd rather see Bernie than Hillary, but he's still a little too left-leaning for my liking.

Naturally, by his own description, Bernie is a "Democratic Socialist." But he has NO chance of beating Hillary unless Hillary leaves the race at some point (a possibility if she should be indicted for her crimes). The Clinton machine would see to that. In fact, they are now denying him access to the massive voter database of the DNC and he is about to file a lawsuit against his fellow Dumocrats for that.

It really doesn't add anything to a discussion to do silly stuff like that. If you don't like Democrat positions go right ahead and explain what policies you don't like and why but silly insults just turn discussions into slanging matches.

I've got a better idea. If you do not enjoy my comments, you are free to ignore them and read the other posts.

31 minutes into WHAT debate? It's been weeks since the last one (which was a Democrat debate) and a week before the next one.

The one closest to the date the question was asked by the original poster, about the Republican debate she missed.
