If Trump made the comment that Biden made it would be the end of the world. Do you think Biden will face any repercussions with his comment " I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."

Looks remarkably like the #MeToo movement howling and wailing about Brett Kavanaugh due to allegations made against him while falling mysteriously silent when comparable allegations were made against Biden.

As far as the left are concerned it seems that #MeToo is little more than the expected response to someone saying they support someone with a D after their name.

Donald Trump makes similar stupid comments several times a day. It has actually become rather mundane. People have become habituated. Trump is the new normal. The Republic is in the crapper and the water is circling counterclockwise.

Yes, if Trump said such a comment, THAT would push this pandemic right out of the picture for days (not a word about that) just shouts of how racist he is, how stupid he is, how he MUST be impeached for this!

No, Biden will pay nothing for this. 1) The press will largely ignore it. 2) Democrats cannot racist, no matter what they think ir say or do. Republicans just are racist no matter what they think or say or do. Just how it is. Just as Democrats are smart and Republicans are ignorant. Just how it is.

What was he trying to say? I struggle to interpret it as anything other than saying that black people must vote Democrat just because. Presumably he thinks black people who vote Republican aren't proper blacks.

It's a poor comment no matter who said it and would expect a big backlash.

What has Donald Trump ever said that was even remotely racist?
I agree his tweets are not "Politically Correct" but at least it's thought out, Biden has severe dementia and whatever he says, just like Trump, is truly how he feels.. he really feels all "Blacks" should vote for him and if they don't then they are somehow ignorant.

I think he is saying the Republican party is all about wealthy people and big business and the average person black or white gains nothing by voting Republican

The average person obviously thinks they gain something by voting Republican, or tens of millions of people (black and white) wouldn't do it.

Even considering what you've said to claim someone "ain't black" if they even have to consider who to vote for is absurdly racist. Would he have said "you ain't white" to a white man trying to decide which way to vote?

I suspect a lot of black people who vote Republican want the chance to just get on with their lives without the increasingly silly regulations that typically come from the left. You know, just like a lot of the white people who vote Republican who want much the same thing.

What does the average person gain from voting Democrat?

I find it painful to listen to Biden at this point. He's clearly declining mentally and can't form sentences in a coherent fashion anymore. I'm not saying that in sarcasm, either. As horrible a person as he is (his history of being touchy-creepy with little girls on camera is enough for me), I feel badly that he's declining so obviously, in such a public way. He's humiliating himself (or his press team is allowing him to be humiliated, or both) and losing whatever dignity he hoped to retain. His people need to get him off camera and keep him off camera.

The thing I find curious is the way people were trying to use the constitutional amendment (I think the 25th?) to get Trump out of office due to being "mentally unfit" but now think Biden is the perfect person to replace him.

1. Biden is and will totally get away with it for one and only one reason: He's a Democrat.

2. I suspect the leadership of the Democrat Party knows 2020 is a loss for the While House. They aren't happy about this but what is, is. They need to focus on the Senate. And look to 2024 when it will be an open seat. After 8 years, the opposing party often has an advantage. But why Biden? He will do the least harm and will hold the party together. If it was Sanders, that could divide the party and he would tear apart the Party leadership, replacing it with a bunch of radical socialists/communists (the nominee heads the party for the next 4 years - whether or not he wins the election). Biden will alter nothing that Clinton affirmed in 2016 and that Obama set up. Bottom line: The Democrat Party has written off the While House for 2020. Biden will run as their token. And hopefully, he keeps his mouth shut and does no harm; statements like trouble them in this regard but thankfully, the Press will cover for them by largely ignoring it or placing the best spin possible where ignoring is impossible. 2024 is just 4 years away; be patient, keep calm, take the Senate and make Trump impotent.

I remember reading an article that said Biden was the least attractive presidential candidate in a lifetime. I forget where I read the article but believe it was on a left-leaning web site, that also reckoned he was being fielded knowing he had little to no chance of winning.

The conclusions were similar to what you've described here. In the middle of a crisis (and the virus is something of a crisis, even if arguably manufactured to at least some extent) people don't tend to change the leader. If they fielded a strong candidate who lost to Trump then that candidate would be weakened if they tried again in 2024. Biden is old enough that, by 2024, he'll be a spent force and realistically his mental acuity seems such now that he's unlikely to be coherent enough in 2024 to even want to stand.

Another article I read suggested that the electorate liked Obama in 2008 when he was promising to end wars and generally make life better at home. By 2016 when the progressive/woke movement was in full swing people had had enough of it and elected someone who would end it.

It is perhaps encouraging to think that there are enough voters out there who are moderate, largely centrist, who don't want the government in our business or our bedrooms, to rein in the fringes of both sides at the ballot box.

Thought out? He has made some amazingly stupid comments. He will say anything to anyone at any time if he thinks that it will give him a momentary advantage or some adulation.

Desperation, is my only guess.

You may not agree with every word that comes out of Trumps mouth but they are thought out, Joe however says some very racists things about whites being rich and black people who don't vote for him are not black.. and then he apologizes because it wasn't thought out.

What racist's remarks have Trump made btw?

Desperation, is my only guess.

It reminds me of some of the chatter during the 2000 Bush-Gore election when, from across the water, we couldn't help but wonder whether a country with nearly 300,000,000 people in it really thought those two were the best options for the next occupant of the White House.

If Trump is the lame duck that some on the left like to say you'd have thought they'd find it easy enough to find someone who could unseat him. Enter Joe Biden, a guy who faces just about all the allegations Trump has faced but doesn't even seem to come with the coherence to address them.

I'm not a particular fan of Trump but would take him over Biden in a heartbeat.

The president took time out from golfing to retweet racist and sexist posts just today.
